Notes on facial care
- Extractions: If comedones are difficult to remove, massage
with Sebogel first
- If skin has lots of pustules exfoliation/massage will tend to
spread infection
- Strict hygiene methods must be adhered to
- Do not overheat the skin and treat gently
- Oily skins will become dry if abused preparations that are
drying to the skin dry the surface and constrict the pores. As
a result sebum becomes blocked on the pilo-sebaceous follicle.
Sebum and other skin debris then form closed or open comedones.
If the follicle walls are weakened the contents may then leak
through to the dermis leading to secondary infections and an inflammatory
reaction by the skin that results in a pustule forming.
- Treatment aims to lesson shiny appearance, refine open pores,
deeply cleanse, and reduce bacteria on the skin surface
