Winter Skincare Scoop
We highly recommend the following products to keep you moisturised and protected throughout the coming winter months when the skin is prone to exposure and extreme temperature changes.
Handle with care
We use our hands as well as our face to communicate. They also speak volumes about our lifestyle and ourselves. In fact they are probably subjected to more abuse than any other part of our body in terms of exposure to the sun, cleaning products and other environmental hazards. A well-formulated hand crème that is rich in natural emollients is an essential part of a great skin care regime. It will also assist with the aging process and prevention. We often receive rave reviews about Mukti Botanicals Hand Repair Crème. The formulation has undergone much "tweaking" by Mukti over the years to get it just right - not too oily, not too light. Mukti Botanicals' unique formulation is designed to soften, moisturise and protect the hands from external abuse. It contains a rich blend of natural plant butters including certified organic shea and coconut, calendula and vitamin E.
Smooth Operator
If your skin is already showing signs of looking like a lizard we highly recommend that you indulge in Mukti Botanicals' Coconut, Honey and Vanilla Body Butter, with its tantalising aroma that makes for a delicious hydrating and nourishing treatment for the whole body, leaving the skin feeling soft, refreshed and silky smooth.
Lucious Lips
Mukti Botanicals' Macadamia & Lip Balm is the perfect solution to sooth, hydrate and moisturise your lips without compromising your health and safety. In fact, we guarantee it contains over 90% certified organic ingredients and that it is safe enough to eat! Not only does it taste absolutely delicious, the nourishing blend of oils in a certified organic bee's wax and honey base create a protective barrier against the sun and wind. It can also be applied as a base for a natural lipstick.
Winter Skin Care Tips
Winter is hard on skin. Dry air and harsh wind can sap moisture from the skin, causing cracking, chapping, and irritation. And even though it's not blazing hot, your skin is still vulnerable to damage from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Luckily, you can take action to minimise winter skin problems.
Here are some tips to help you keep your skin as youthful-looking and healthy as possible throughout the winter months:
Continue to protect your skin from sun damage. Since you're usually bundled up when outside in the wintertime, you don't need to slather sunscreen all over yourself, but try to wear a makeup or moisturiser with SPF 15 on your face throughout the winter. Do wear a natural high SPF sunscreen if you'll be skiing, some of the most severe sunburns may occur on the slopes, since the snow reflects the sunlight. Remember to protect your lips. We recommend Mukti Botanicals' Macadamia & Honey Lip Balm which has a natural sun protection factor.
Examine your skin-care regimen. Moisturise regularly after cleansing. For best results apply Mukti Botanicals' Facial Cremes to damp skin as this will assist with penetration and absorption. For best results press genlty on to the face, neck and decolletage with upward strokes. If you have sensitive skin, you may need to cut back on using sloughing products such as exfoliants and alpha-hydroxy acids, as they may exacerbate dry, irritated skin.
Don't take long, hot showers. They may sound appealing, but they strip skin of its natural moisturising lipids. Instead, take a short, warm shower use Mukti Botanicals' Bath & Shower Gel which is much milder and more hygenic than soap; pat your skin almost dry, then put on a good Body Lotion while skin is still damp. You will need a super-emollient lotion for hands, heels, or anywhere else you experience especially dry, cracked skin.
Humidify indoor air. If you don't have a humidifying system within your heating ducts, consider buying a humidifier. These will help keep skin and nasal passages from drying out. (If you do experience dryness or minor bleeding in your nose. We recommend Mukti Botanicals' Rejuvenating Eye Balm to soothe and moisturise the area.)
If you develop severely dry skin, eczema, or "winter itch," use a Calendula based creme with Vitamin E to restore your skin to good health. We recommend Mukti Botanicals' Hand Repair Creme.

Traditionally, organic agriculture is defined as an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain, or enhance ecological harmony. The primary goal of organic agriculture is to optimise the health and productivity of interdependent communities of soil life, plants, animals and people.
